GARMISCH, Germany — Early morning weather forced the cancellation of the second and final downhill training run in Garmisch Friday morning. After jury inspection was complete, the call came down at approximately 7:45am CET that conditions were not ideal for training due to low cloud cover and wet conditions.

Weather improved throughout the day to mostly sunny skies by noon time, and the forecast for Saturday’s race calls for sunny skies and temperatures below freezing in the morning and rising throughout the day.

Saturday’s downhill race is scheduled to start at 11:30am CET. Sunday’s giant slalom is still as scheduled, barring further weather issues.
