The three-stop tour is now more than halfway over and the drama is reaching new heights as challengers for the Dew Cup and 1.5 million dollar prize purse, emerged at the penultimate event.

Today’s main event was the men’s and women’s snowboard superpipe competition. The Dew Tour’s favorite son, Shaun White, came into the contest looking to better his second-place finish at the tour’s first stop in Breckenridge, CO., which was taken by Danny Davis. White did not disappoint, proving he’s still the king of the pipe as the Olympic gold medalist spun himself a 96 point score and the victory. Steve Fisher was four points back in second followed by Kevin Pearce in third.

After Gretchen Bleiler took the Breckenridge event, four points ahead of Kelly Clark, the stage was set for round two. This time it was all Clark as the Vermont local won the women’s snowboard superpipe, besting the scores of Hannah Teter in second and Ellery Hollingsworth in third.

Both White and Clark now stand at the top of the superpipe standings going into the tour’s final stop in mid February.

The tie-breaking last stop will be the Toyota Championship at Northstar-at-Tahoe in Truckee, CA, Feb. 11-22.
