VAL DI FIEMME, Italy — Charlotte Kalla overtook Virpi Kuitunen in the final uphill stage to win the second edition of the Tour de Ski on Sunday.

VAL DI FIEMME, Italy — Charlotte Kalla overtook Virpi Kuitunen in the final uphill stage to win the second edition of the Tour de Ski on Sunday.
    The Swede finished with a 36.4-second advantage over Finnish rival Kuitunen, the defending champion.
    Arianna Follis of Italy was third, 53.3 seconds behind.
    The final leg was a 9-kilometer freestyle pursuit, with the final 3.65-kilometers uphill on a slope that is normally used for downhill skiing.
    Kalla entered the last leg trailing Kuitunen by 39.7 seconds.
    ''I lost some seconds at the beginning but I just wanted to do my own race,'' said Kalla, who let out a loud scream on crossing the line. ''I went 100 percent on the steep part of the hill.''
    Kalla also won the second, fourth and sixth stages.
    Lukas Bauer takes a 1 minute, 49.8-second lead on Tord Asle Gjerdalen into the final stage of the men's race, a 10-kilometer pursuit.
    The second edition of the Tour de Ski includes eight races in 10 days with the overall winners awarded 400 World Cup points.
