Marker, Athalon team up for luggage, bag gear

Salt Lake City, Utah-based Marker Ltd. has appointed Athalon Sportgear Inc. of New York City as its exclusive and official licensee in the luggage and bag category.

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah-based Marker Ltd. has appointed Athalon Sportgear Inc. of New York City as its exclusive and official licensee in the luggage and bag category. In this new relationship, Athalon will design and develop luggage, ski bags, boot bags and duffels under the Marker brand for distribution in the United States, Canada and Europe. Athalon will utilize the current Marker luggage sales force.
    Andy Nitkin, CEO of Athalon, said, “For many years, Marker has built a significant ski and travel bag business in the snowsport industry. We look forward to working with Marker to help take their business to the next level. In conjunction with the Marker team, leveraging the brand’s reputation for technology and quality, we will design and develop the finest snowsport bags in the market. Development is well under way and we will have product ready to show in January 2008.”
