Believe it or not, ski racers and Olympic Lifters have more in common than you might think.

In this gem from our video archives, U.S. Ski & Snowboard Athletic Development Coordinator Michael Bingaman walks us through two Olympic lifts essential to any ski racer’s summer training repertoire. The snatch and the clean and jerk not only add strength, but can also help with your overall mobility, a magic combination when it comes to exercises useful for ski racers.

Bingaman and U.S. Ski Team alumnus Nicholas Krause walk you through both exercises step-by-step so you can practice these movements in your sleep before hitting the gym for real.

*Remember to always lift weights in a supervised environment*
