Tviberg injured during training run at Lake Louise
Attacking Viking Maria Therese Tviberg crashed during Tuesday’s downhill training run in Lake Louise, Canada, and was helicoptered off the hill. The Norwegian suffered an injury to her right knee. It is a suspected ACL tear, but she is returning to Norway for further evaluation.
“That (knee) is a trifle, but you get extremely upset,” Tviberg told NRK when considering the recent death of David Poisson. “Especially when you’ve been through it so many times before, it’s tough.”
This is Tviberg’s fourth knee injury–second in the right knee. Her best result in 2016-17 was a 10th-place result in the alpine combined in Crans Montana, Switzerland.
