The Holderness School has welcomed veteran U.S. Ski Team coach Mike Kenney and former Burke Mountain Academy coach Corey McKim to its coaching staff.

A level 500 international U.S. Ski & Snowboard alpine coach, Kenney returns home to Mittersill/Cannon Mountain after working the past 12 years with the U.S. Ski Team, mentoring our country’s most prolific skiers.

“I am really excited to work with motivated student athletes from Holderness and look forward to utilizing the new Mittersill training venue to advance their skills,” Kenney said.

Kenney’s responsibilities at Holderness include drafting strength and conditioning programs for multi-sport athletes, coaches’ education, and on-hill work with Holderness FIS and USSA athletes.

Holderness Director of Snow Sports Ivar Dahl said, “The experience and expertise Mike Kenney brings to Holderness in terms of strength and conditioning, education, and athlete specific on-hill coaching enhances our program and complements our new training venue and facilities at Mittersill.”

McKim joins the Holderness Eastern Alpine program as the head coach of the U19 FIS/USSA teams. With experience working at the club and academy level, McKim will manage the day-to day training and racing demands for athletes and coaches competing at FIS and USSA levels.

Holderness School has a tradition of nurturing talented young skiers while offering a rigorous academic program. The addition of Kenney and McKim comes at an opportune time considering the growth of the Eastern Alpine program and the rise in FIS registered skiers at the school.

“These two talented coaches bring energy and significant skills to our training program and will help us maximize training and racing opportunities at our Mittersill venue,” said Program Director Craig Antonides.
