BREAKING: Mikaela Shiffrin Conquers Kronplatz

Mikaela Shiffrin finds herself back on top of the podium Tuesday after an untouchable first run set her 1.39 seconds ahead of second place finisher, Tessa Worley, going in to run two. After a disappointing result at the venue in 2018 when she did not finish, Shiffrin fought back her nerves to hang on to her lead over the Frenchwoman by 1.21 seconds and end the day victorious.

Italy’s Marta Bassino finds herself back on the podium after a long hiatus. The 22-year-old has not had a top-three finish in the giant slalom since Aspen in March 2017.

American Nina O’Brien finished 26th overall, coming off of a few strong giant slalom finishes in the Canadian NorAms earlier this month. Her teammate, AJ Hurt, did not finish her first run.

Stay tuned for full race coverage.
