The T2 Foundation is supporting the entire American team for the 2017 Alpine Junior World Championships with a $15,000 grant to offset individual costs to athletes. $1,000 will be allocated to each athlete who qualified for the championships to be held in Are, Sweden, March 8-14.

“This year, we are extending T2’s support to the entire World Juniors team. This event is such a huge benchmark and important opportunity for our juniors. Eventually, T2 will work to offset the entire cost of the trip, so no athlete will need to shoulder this additional cost in the future. Many other countries are able to send their teams to this event at no cost to the athletes and we want to work toward the same thing for the U.S. team,” said Marina Knight, T2’s Executive Director.

The $1,000 grant for each athlete will cover roughly one third of each athlete’s cost to compete in Sweden. The cost of the trip varies year-to-year depending on where Junior World Championships are held. This year, the U.S. Ski Team plans a short preparation period in Are before the championships begin.

The T2 Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and our mission is to make sure America’s best skiers have the opportunity to become the world’s best skiers. We also give back to the ski and youth community through organized events and programs. This year’s grant application period for athlete grants will open April 15.
