The T2 Foundation, a non-profit organization that supports alpine, cross-country and freestyle skiers, has officially launched a new grant program aimed at skiers ages 14-19. The foundation’s annual grant program helps offset the costs associated with training and competing at an elite level, and T2 athletes also give back to the youth and ski community by connecting with kids around the country through organized events and programs.

The new T2 Junior Team Grants are designed to help the country’s best young talent continue within the development pipeline, with the ultimate goal of helping ensure that America’s best young skiers have the opportunity to become the world’s best. The grants will be awarded based on need, merit, school standing and contributions to community.

T2 logo2_lower (1)Grants will be designated for travel and training purposes and, whenever possible, applied directly to those needs through affiliated programs. T2 grants range from $1,500 to $10,000 depending on need and age. In addition to financial support, Junior Team Grant recipients will be invited to participate in T2 community and fundraising events and will be supplied with T2 swag to show pride. Grant recipients will also have the opportunity to be mentored by an athlete from Team T2 and will be expected to uphold the values that the team represents.

The grant application process is open to USSA skiers between the ages of 14-19, and applications are due by June 15, 2015.

For more information on the specific components required to apply, please visit the T2 Foundation website here or contact Junior Team Grant Coordinator Libby Webster here.
