The T2 Foundation, a non-profit organization that supports alpine, cross-country and freestyle skiers including World Cup racers like Resi Stiegler and Robby Kelley, has once again opened its annual grant application program to help athletes offset the costs associated with training and competing at an elite level.

Last season, the foundation supported 32 athletes through its junior team program. Eight of the 12 U.S. athletes who attended World Junior Championships in Sochi, Russia, were part of the T2 Junior Team grant program.

The foundation is currently accepting applications from athletes with birth years between 1997 and 2002 for this year’s program. The T2 Junior Team grants are designed to help the country’s best young talent continue within the development pipeline, and are awarded based on need, merit, school standing and contributions to community.

Grants are designated for travel and training purposes and, whenever possible, applied directly to those needs through affiliated programs. The grants range from $1,500 to $10,000 depending on need and age. In return for the grant, T2 athletes give back to the youth and ski community by connecting with kids around the country through organized events and programs.

The ultimate goal of the grant program is to ensure that America’s best young skiers have the opportunity to become the world’s best. Applications are currently being accepted until June 3, 2016. Anyone interested in applying must submit an athletic résumé, an explanation of funding needs for the season, two letters of recommendation and family financial information via a designated system.
