NBC Sports Group begins its presentation of the 2016-17 FIS World Cup skiing season with comprehensive coverage of this weekend’s giant slalom event from Soelden, Austria, with U.S. Olympic gold medalists Mikaela Shiffrin and Ted Ligety both slated to compete.

NBCSN will present coverage of the men’s giant slalom race on Sunday at 9:30 p.m. ET, and Universal HD will televise the women’s giant slalom event on Saturday at 4 p.m. ET.

NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app – NBC Sports Group’s live streaming platforms for desktops, mobile devices, tablets, and connected TVs — will provide live streaming coverage of both runs of the men’s and women’s giant slalom events. Streaming coverage on NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app begins Saturday at 4 a.m. ET with the first women’s giant slalom run, followed by Run 2 at 7 a.m. ET. Streaming coverage of the men’s giant slalom begins Sunday at 4 a.m. ET with Run 1, followed by Run 2 at 7 a.m. ET.

Bill Doleman will call this weekend’s action, alongside analyst and former FIS World Cup downhill racer Steve Porino.

NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app will provide live streaming coverage of the 2016-17 FIS World Cup season via “TV Everywhere,” giving consumers additional value to their television subscription service, and making high quality content available to television customers both in and out of the home and on multiple platforms. NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app are powered by Playmaker Media and available on the iTunes App Store, Google Play, Windows Store, Roku Channel Store, Apple TV and Amazon Fire.

Unfortunately for our Canadian friends, CBC will not be airing either the men’s or women’s races from Soelden this weekend. Their World Cup coverage will commence in Lake Louise.
