Petra Vlhova has been second best in Zagreb to the American slalom legend and four-time Snow Queen, Mikaela Shiffrin, time and time again. Saturday night, the Slovakian finally earned her crown, pulling out a win over Shiffrin by 1.31 seconds. Vlhova has been skiing well so far this season but has not been able to catch Shiffrin until Saturday’s race in Zagreb, Croatia.

Shiffrin skied a clean and aggressive second run, enough to close some of the time gap between Vlhova and herself, but not enough to take the win.

Austria’s Katharina Liensberger earned her first slalom podium of the season, finishing in third 3.49 seconds off of Vlhova’s winning time.

Stay tuned for full race coverage.
