Bode Miller seen training in Chile on Bomber Skis, Full Tilt boots

Amid the Bode Miller vs. Head USA lawsuit that is ongoing in Los Angeles Federal Court, the American athlete traveled to Chile for a U.S. Ski Team training camp at Portillo. Bomber Skis, the manufacturer that Miller joined after terminating his agreement with Head in 2015, shared this photo of him training on the new equipment.

Perhaps even more intriguing than the Bomber Skis is his use of Full Tilt boots – a brand typically reserved for freestyle athletes though based on the three-piece design of the Raichle Flexon (the very boot Bill Johnson claimed downhill gold in at the 1984 Olympics) – and an OSBE helmet, which is not currently listed as part of the U.S. Ski Team supplier pool. It’s a setup unlike anything fans generally see on the international racing stage.

Miller, an Olympic gold medalist, is hoping to return to World Cup competition this season on Bomber skis. However, he signed a termination agreement with Head USA in 2015 which stated that if he returned to race during the 2016-17 season, he would have to do so on HEAD equipment. While Miller’s future on the World Cup remains uncertain, there’s likely more to come as this saga unfolds.
