Austria’s Baumann to Compete for Germany

33-year-old Romed Baumann will compete for the German Ski Association in the future, after his request was approved at FIS Congress in Dubrovnik, Croatia. The Austrian recently married his longtime German girlfriend and applied for dual citizenship.

The native Tyrolean was not included in the Austrian team’s selections for the upcoming season. The 2013 World Championship bronze medalist in combined loses neither FIS nor his world ranking points.

Baumann started 279 World Cup races fo Austria and has two victories to his name in combined from 2009 and 2012. The New German skier also has eight other World Cup podiums to his name in downhill, super-G, and combined, most recently finishing in second place at the 2015 Garmisch-Partenkirchen downhill.
