American ski star Lindsey Vonn has been famous in the ski world for years, but her mainstream popularity seems to have hit a fever pitch recently thanks to engagements like participating in Sport Illustrated’s 2016 Swimsuit Issue, walking the red carpet and releasing her new book, “Strong is the New Beautiful.”

As part of her book launch, Vonn is on whirlwind media tour, brushing elbows with everyone from singer Kelly Clarkson to TV host Stephen Colbert.

While her interview with Colbert made fans laugh, Vonn did stir the pot a bit in an interview on The Dan Patrick Show this past week when she was asked about sharing the slopes with snowboarders. Vonn said that she likes snowboarders, but a little separation on the mountain would be nice (see the moment at 13:47 in the interview below).

Her comments caused teammate Julia Mancuso to publicly push back. The Olympic gold medalist posted on her Facebook page, sharing “NEWS FLASH- Lindsey does not represent all skiers…. love my snowboard buddies!”

Vonn later responded by Tweeting, “News flash Jules- I never said I didn’t like boarders. Y’all need to relax.”

It all feels a bit like Kardashian family drama, and maybe we’ll see more of the relationship on Vonn’s new show, “Chasing History,” which will debut on Eurosport in February 2017.

“For me personally, the next 18 months are going to be some of the most exciting times of my professional life,” Vonn said of being part of the show that will capture her life as she tries to break the all-time win record in alpine ski racing.

If her trip to New York is any indication, the next year and half is sure to be entertaining as fans from Los Angeles to St. Moritz will be tuning in.
