The United States Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association nationals hit the Winter Park Resort stage this week.
WINTER PARK, Colorado — The United States Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association nationals hit the Winter Park Resort stage this week. Starting Thursday with the alpine women’s giant slalom and continuing through Saturday’s men’s slalom, teams from all over the States will be competing for the national title. Competitions include slalom, giant slalom and snowboard giant slalom on the Hughes trail; nordic races including sprint, classic and skate will be held at Snow Mountain Ranch; and snowboarders will compete in halfpipe and slopestyle events at the Rail Yard Terrain Park.
    Alpine women’s teams in attendance: Rocky Mountain College, Albertson College, University of British Columbia, University of Montana, Washington State University, Colby-Sawyer College, Plymouth State University, Boston College, Smith College, Brown University, Syracuse University, Alfred University, University of Buffalo, Penn State University, University of Minnesota Duluth, University of Minnesota Twin Cities, St. Olaf College, Sierra Nevada College and University of California-Santa Barbara.
    Alpine men’s teams: Rocky Mountain College, University of British Columbia, Albertson College, University of Oregon, Colorado Mountain College, Colby-Sawyer College, Plymouth State University, Boston College, Clarkson College, University of Massachusetts Amherst, Syracuse University, Alfred University, Cornell University, Lehigh University, University of Minnesota Duluth, University of Minnesota Twin Cities, St. Olaf College, Sierra Nevada College and University of California-Davis.
    Cross-country women’s teams: University of Wyoming, Clarkson College, Cornell University, Army, University of Maine Presque Isle, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Colorado Mountain College and St. Olaf College. Additionally, Air Force Academy men’s team, the University of Maine Farmington men’s team and Worcester Polytechnic Institute’s men’s and women’s teams will compete in the alpine/nordic four-way.
    Nordic men’s teams: University of Wyoming, Clarkson College, Cornell University, Army, University of Maine Presque Isle, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, University of Maine Farmington, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Colorado Mountain College and St. Olaf College.
    Snowboarding teams: Albertson College, Appalachian State University, California State University Long Beach, Colorado Mountain College, Colorado State University, East Carolina University, Marquette University, Michigan Technological University, Northwestern University, San Diego State, UC San Diego, UC Santa Barbara, UCLA, University of Southern California, University of Colorado, University of Denver, University of Idaho, University of Oregon, University of St. Thomas, University of Virginia, University of West Virginia, Western Michigan Universityand Whitman College.
    The United States Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association is the sports federation for collegiate team ski racing and snowboarding in America. In excess of 180 colleges from coast to coast field some 4,400 men and women alpine, cross-country and snowboarding athletes in more than 200 race events annually.
