On April 13, the University of New Mexico announced that the ski team would be cut. According to the press release, the cuts will save the department approximately $600,000 per year in operating budget, scholarships and salaries. Since then, the team and ski community have been fighting to have the team reinstated for the 2017-18 season.

On Thursday at 2 p.m. MT (4 p.m. ET), the UNM Ski Team will host a press conference to address the issues behind the decision as well as the plan to have the team reinstated. The live stream will be available below.
