Ted Ligety, 2004 Sprint/Ski Racing Junior of the Year, signs with Völkl and Marker{mosimage}Völkl Sport America has announced a two-year contract agreement with Ted Ligety, an alpine prospect with the U.S. Ski Team. Ligety, who was the 2004 Sprint/Ski Racing Junior Male Skier of the Year.

Ligety will compete on the World Cup circuit using Völkl skis and Marker ski bindings. By capturing the NorAm slalom title during the past season, upstaging a number of more established US athletes, Ligety earned a place on the World Cup team for 2004/2005.

Recently named to the US Ski Team's B Team, Ligety promises to make an instant impression on the world stage. "When you watch Ted ski slalom, you really see an exceptional talent — he's just so fast in certain sections — when he puts it all together, he'll be hard to beat," says Völkl promotion director Ivar Dahl.

Ligety's presence on the Völkl team strengthens the connection between Völkl and racing enthusiasts nationwide, and carries tremendous influence among the best young skiers in the country.
