The Swedish Ski Association announced that World Cup giant slalom specialist Matts Olsson suffered an injury to his right knee during a team training camp in Ushuaia, Argentina, last week. Olsson flew home to Sweden on Sunday where doctors at Sophia Hospital in Stockholm diagnosed a bone bruise.

“Over and out Ushuaia! You didn’t treat me good at all. Let’s hope for speedy recovery could use a few more turns before Soelden,” Olsson posted to his Facebook page.

The 26-year-old alpine skier’s best finish in the Audi FIS World Cup opener in Soelden, Austria, was 10th place in 2012, and he’s finished inside the top 30 for the past three years running. He has just a little over one month to recover before this year’s GS race on Oct. 25.
