Spyder signs USST star Bode Miller to three-year sponsorship and licensing deal{mosimage}U.S. Ski Team star Bode Miller, who won two gold medals and a silver at the 2003 Alpine World Championships, has signed an athlete sponsorship and licensing agreement with Spyder Active Sports Inc. A manufacturer of high-end winter sports apparel, Spyder is an official sponsor of the U.S. Ski Team.

The three-year agreement runs through the 2006 Olympics in Turin, Italy. Miller will be involved with product design, helping create a signature line of men’s and boy’s outerwear, accessories, and “attitude” wear. Ski jackets, outerwear pants, ski suits, ski hats and apparel accessories will be part of the Bode line, expected to make its debut in the fall of 2004. Spyder will also make Miller available for special appearances.

“Bode embodies the thrill of skiing. He has a self-determined, All-American style that is appealing to skiers and non-skiers alike. To be able to bring him into the Spyder family seems very natural to us,” said David Jacobs, founder and president of Spyder.

Based in Boulder, Colo., Spyder sells high performance outerwear and sportswear in the United States and Canada. Spyder is sold in 44 countries outside of North America through the Spyder-Europe office in Zug, Switzerland, and through independent distributors around the world.
