Slovenian skier Ana Drev’s season ended on January 12th after a crash in training. Drev had been prepping for January 15th’s giant slalom in Kronplatz. She was rushed to the hospital in Ljubljana, Slovenia, where she was diagnosed with a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in her right knee. She went into surgery immediately and will begin rehab in the coming weeks.
Drev has suffered injuries before, and at 33-years-old, various Slovenian media outlets are questioning the possibility of her return next season. Her injury comes after a summer of rehabbing and training on her own in Ushuaia, Argentina.
Drev’s most successful season was back in 2105-2016 where she earned a second-place podium twice in the giant slalom – once in Flachau, Austria and once Maribor, Slovenia.
