The second of two back-to-back downhills at Lake Louise was canceled Saturday when a series of snow squalls moved in.

“It was snowing pretty good,” said U.S. coach Jim Tracy, “and apparently there was a pretty good wind at the top.”

The race was first delayed an hour, and then cancelled altogether when another squall moved in.

“It was snowing pretty good,” said U.S. coach Jim Tracy, “and apparently there was a pretty good wind at the top.”

The race was first delayed an hour, and then cancelled altogether when another squall moved in.

“It would have been pretty tough to get the snow off the course,” says Tracy. “And it would not have been fair.”

The current plan is to go forward with the super G planned for Sunday. No decision on making up the downhill has yet been made.

Lindsey Vonn won the opening downhill on the course Friday.
