Season-ending knee injury for Didier Cuche of SwitzerlandDidier Cuche of Switzerland injured one of the cruciate ligaments in his right knee today, and will miss the rest of the season, according to the Swiss Ski Federation.

Cuche, the top male skier on the Swiss alpine national team, was training giant slalom at Adelboden when the accident occured. The date and location of the surgery has yet to be determined.

Cuche is currently standing in fifth-place in the overall World Cup standings, and is also fifth in giant slalom. The next-best Swiss male skier is Didier Defago, in ninth position overall.
