Qiu Sen Edges Omischl in Aerials{mosimage}BEIJING (AP) China’s Qiu Sen edged out Canadian Steve Omischl to win a freestyle World Cup aerials event Saturday, while Li Nina completed a Chinese sweep by taking the women’s competition.

Qiu finished with 251.64 points, less than one-quarter point ahead of Omischl, who had 251.42. Alexei Grishin of Belarus was third with 239.18.

Li scored 204.47 points. Evelyne Leu of Switzerland was second with 198.94 and Deidra Dionne of Canada third with 190.80.

American Jeret Peterson placed 10th in Saturday’s event but still leads the World Cup aerials standings with 560 points.

Omischl was in second place overall with 430 and American Ryan St. Onge third with 376.

Li leads the women’s aerial standings with 745 points, ahead of Australia’s Lydia Ierodiaconou in second with 625. Li’s countrywoman Guo Xinxin is third with 369.
