The Liberty Mutual Insurance NASTAR Nationals will be held at Squaw Valley, Calif., on March 21-25.  The California resort is going to be filled with racers and their families who have flown and driven in from across the nation to race in their age, ability, gender and discipline groups while celebrating with live music and Lake Tahoe vibes.

This year marks NASTAR’s golden anniversary after 50 years of introducing athletes to the sport using the unique handicap system that allows racers from across the nation to compare their times to that of National Pacesetter Ted Ligety’s time.

The national championships is a festival that celebrates the sport of alpine racing and serves as a reunion for the top recreational racers in the country. NASTAR has planned an exciting week of activities for athletes and their guests including free concerts, autograph signings by NASTAR Pacesetters, a competitor raffle, awards receptions, a Family Team Race, a Team Race for Friends, a Resort Team competition, a slalom competition and a final Race of Champions to determine the overall winners.

U.S. Ski Team members and alumni such as Marco Sullivan, Daron Rahlves, AJ Kitt, Bill Hudson, Tamara Mckinney, Nate Holland, and others will be setting the pace at the Liberty Mutual Insurance NASTAR Nationals. Julia Mancuso and Travis Ganong plan to join the event as well.

If you are a NASTAR racer and are not sure if you’ve qualified for Nationals, go here. If you or a family member has qualified and plan to attend, registration closes on March 22, so be sure to register before the cut-off date. Go here to learn how to register.
