ST. MORITZ, Switzerland — The men’s World Championship downhill in St. Moritz was postponed on Saturday due to fog on the middle section of the course being too thick to safely start the race. After the original start time of 12:00 CET was delayed several times in hopes of the clouds clearing, organizers made the decision to call the race at 2:15pm CET.

Despite strong sunshine and clear skies at both the start and finish, the middle section of the course was plagued by a thin, yet extremely dense cloud band that made visibility poor enough to warrant the postponement.

The men will now attempt to race downhill on Sunday at 1:30pm CET immediately after the women’s downhill, which has a scheduled start time of 11:15am CET.

Even though the many delays throughout the day proved frustrating for athletes and fans alike, Canadian super-G gold and bronze medalists Erik Guay and Manuel Osborne-Paradis managed to have some fun passing time with Austria’s Hannes Reichelt:

Holding for fog!!! But we are ready???. @hannesreichelt @erikguay #keepingitlight @st.moritz2017
