Lindsey Vonn’s life isn’t just about working out and skiing fast. Recently, the U.S. Ski Team speed star has been enjoying mermaid life at the beach, exploring shipwrecks and sunshine. She also took some time on Wednesday this week to answer fan questions via the GoPro Instagram account.

Question from @brigittetisdale: How do you balance training, work, and workouts so well?!
Lindsey Vonn: It’s hard to balance everything. I keep my main priority on skiing and what I need to be the best and then I pack the remainder of my schedule with other stuff. Some of it’s really fun, some of it is very hard and draining, but it’s all for a purpose.

Question from @fluffymappancakes: You just had the best training session you can have and it’s the end of the day and it’s time for you to relax. What is your favorite thing to do?
Vonn: My fav thing to do after a long day of hard workouts is to have a hot meal, turn on Game of Thrones or Law and Order and veg out with my dogs.

Question from @lukerauscher: A quote says, “Everything happens for a reason.” In retrospect, what was the reason for your injuries?
Vonn: My injuries taught me a lot about myself. Patience, perseverance and mental toughness. Each injury shaped me mentally and physically so that I can do what I do today.

Question from @kyle.holsten: How have sports helped you grow as a woman?
Vonn: Sports have taught me to be confident, set goals, work hard, not get distracted….so many things. Sports taught me to be one tough chick! …Well, that and my parents. 🙂

Question from @geo_jones: When it comes to training and performing at the highest level, what techniques do you use to study your own mechanics/body tendencies in order to perform better? Do you use GoPro cameras to help you as well?
Vonn: I have my coach GoPro me when I train. He’ll follow me and film me from behind so I can see things from a different perspective. It can be very beneficial.

Question from @jf.kock: Who, in your opinion, is the greatest athlete of all time?
Vonn: I’m not sure who is the greatest athlete of all time…maybe Muhammad Ali or Michael Jordan…maybe Roger Federer or Lebron James…or maybe Navratilova or Billie Jean King.

Question from @taylor_stoddart:I heard that you want to race against the men for your last season. Bold move. What urged you to make this decision?
Vonn: Men are the next level of ski racing. I want to push myself to my absolute limit and see how I compare.
