Aleksander Aamodt Kilde, the 24-year-old Norwegian teammate of 2017 Super-G World Cup Champion Kjetil Jansrud and Aksel Lund Svindal, has joined the HEAD World Cup Rebels for the upcoming season.

Kilde has proven in the past that he has the talent and ability to mix with the best racers in the world. In his career to date, he has already won the World Cup super-G globe in 2016 and has two wins on the World Cup to date, one each in downhill and super-G as well as five other podium placings. In St. Moritz at the 2017 World Championships, Kilde narrowly missed the podium in the super-G by 0.03 seconds.

HEAD was the number one ranked men’s ski brand from last season, making it a great match for Kilde heading into an Olympic season.

“During the last years, HEAD has continued to prove itself as the best ranked ski brand in the world,” Kilde explained. “I am thrilled to announce that I will be joining the HEAD family for the next two years. I am looking forward to work with an amazing team of technicians and test personnel to develop both the equipment and myself, together taking even more steps towards becoming a better ski racer. I know HEAD and its team will provide me with everything needed to achieve the ambitious goals I’ve set.”

Rainer Salzgeber, racing manager for the HEAD World Cup Rebels, said that the team is pleased to have the Attacking Viking on board.

“We are really happy that he is joining our team,” Salzgerber said. “It shows that the last couple of years with Kjetil and Aksel were giving the right signs for promising young athletes like Aleksander, and I think the HEAD way of working with the material and the athlete gave him the trust for him to join us. We are looking forward to a great future with him, as compared to a lot of other speed skiers, he is really young and his results in the season 2015 – 2016, when he won the super-G World Cup. He will be a great member of our big and competitive team. I think we have shown the right step to show our passion and our strengths in the future.”

Chairman and CEO of HEAD Johan Eliasch added, “With Aleksander Aamodt Kilde joining the HEAD World Cup Rebels team, it shows that we are the most attractive race team. Aleksander is one of the most promising young racing talents and I am very happy that he decided to join our team.”

Kilde will be using HEAD skis, boots and bindings for the Olympic season.
