U.S. Ski Team veteran Erik Schlopy won Tuesday’s NorAm Super Series giant slalom at Keystone, Colorado, leading three Americans in the top 10 a day after the team started sluggishly in the opening GS.
U.S. SKI TEAM veteran Erik Schlopy won Tuesday’s NorAm Super Series giant slalom at Keystone, Colorado, leading three Americans in the top 10 a day after the team started sluggishly in the opening GS.
    Schlopy clocked a two-run combined time of 1 minute, 46.49 seconds to edge two French racers on the podium. Cyprien Richard finished second in 1:46.65 and Thomas Frey third at 1:46.95.
    U.S. Ski Teamer Jake Zamansky, who’s coming off an injury-shortened 2007 season as is Schlopy, finished fourth at 1:47.03. France’s Steve Missillier rounded out the top five.
    Tim Jitloff finished ninth for the U.S., and Will Brandenburg — who led the U.S. team with a ninth-place in Monday’s event — was 11th.
    The women race the first of two GS races at Keystone on Wednesday.
