Finland’s Kalle Palander handily won the season’s first NorAm Super Series GS on Monday at Keystone, Colorado.
   
FINLAND'S Kalle Palander handily won the season’s first NorAm Super Series GS on Monday at Keystone, Colorado.
    Palander, who finished second in the most recent World Cup slalom at Reiteralm, clocked a two-run combined time of 1 minute, 45.42 seconds, beating Canada’s Julien Cousineau by 1.21 seconds. Norway’s Kjetil Jansrud was third in 1:46.95.
    Reigning Ski Racing Junior of the Year Will Brandenburg paced the U.S. Ski Team in ninth place, clocking 1:47.15. Erik Schlopy (11th) and Warner Nickerson (12th) also posted top-15 finishes for the U.S.
    Another men’s GS is scheduled for Tuesday.
