Bloom, an Olympic-level mogul skier and a kick returner for the University of Colorado’s division I football team, has been at the center of a long dispute with the National Collegiate Athletic Association. This issue is whether or not he can accept endorsements generated by his professional skiing career while competing in NCAA amateur sports.

The latest development in the feud is the involvement of United States congressman Mark Udall, who has asked the NCAAto make a special exception for Bloom.

USSA: Jeremy, what was your favorite memory about last season?

Jeremy Bloom: Definitely my last World Cup win. During the last competition of the year, I won, and it was really exciting.

USSA: What have you been doing since the season ended?

JB: Right after last season, I had to have knee surgery. So I have basically been in rehab since then.

USSA: What is your favorite place to relax during your time off?

JB: Anywhere I can go with my girlfriend.

USSA: What was the last CD that you bought?

JB: I don’t really buy CDs anymore. I just download random music.

USSA: What book are you reading right now?

JB: Days and Dreams with Michael Jordan, by Bob Greene.

USSA: What is your favorite movie and why?

JB: “Remember the Titans.” I like it because it is more than just a football movie. It’s very inspirational, and Denzel Washington is my favorite actor.

USSA: What is your favorite thing about moguls?

JB: The jumping.

USSA: If you weren’t competing in moguls, what would you see yourself doing?

JB: Playing football!

USSA: What keeps you motivated?

JB: To be the best in the world!

USSA: Give us the inside scoop on what life is like with the guys on the road.

JB: We get crazy every once in a while. After a competition, we’ll go out sometimes. It depends on the country, the ski area and resort, but it’s not like we’re rock stars or anything.
