After a successful meeting between FIS Chief Race Directors Guenter Hujara and Atle Skaardal and representatives of the Austrian Ski Association on Sept. 3, the proposal for Innsbruck to host a Nations Team Event this upcoming February has been confirmed.

The event will take place at the Heiligwasser-Patscherkofel venue on Feb. 25.

“The Nations Team event has become a really popular event with the athletes and fans alike,” said Sarah Lewis, FIS Secretary General. “Bringing it to such a historic city as Innsbruck that is steeped in ski history, as a two-time host to the Olympic Winter Games and the inaugural Winter Youth Olympic Games, which will indeed be celebrating 50 years since the 1964 Games next year, is a perfect addition to the Audi FIS World Cup calendar in 2014.”

Final approval for inclusion of the event on the calendar will be forthcoming at the FIS Autumn Meetings in Zurich respectively the Meeting of the FIS Council on Nov. 3.
