Now in it’s 11th season, German star Felix Neureuther and the German Ski Federation (DSV) have invited the most successful young junior racers of the last season to a training weekend in the Oetztal region of Austria at the the DSV Felix Neureuther Race Camp powered by Intersport and ERL.

Even after the end of his career, Germany’s most successful ski racer invites the top German junior athletes to his his race camp from April 24-26. This year, a total of seven girls and six boys will be at the camp.

Children aged 10 to 12 were able to qualify with their outstanding results in the DSV-S10 Cup and will be rewarded for their achievements with this three-day camp. Neureuther, Germany’s best skier, is not only the namesake and initiator of the camp, but also assumes all costs for the days in the Oetztal. Neureuther coaches the kids on the snow and in the afternoon coordination training himself. Neureuther is ​​supported in the implementation of this special project by the DSV and DSV Sport Director Wolfgang Maier, DSV young talent Andreas Ertl, and DSV coach Andreas Strodl.

In 2019, the junior camp will take place for the eleventh time. The venue is traditionally Soelden, the training partner ski area of ​​the DSV. Base camp will once again be the hotel of the German national teams, the Hotel Liebe Sonne. The camp is a special reward for the impressive sporting achievements of the young skiers of the last competition season.

“Working with children is a lot of fun,” said Neureuther. “Therefore, I decided immediately after my retirement to carry out the camp again, because it has just grown to my heart. Eleven years ago I started to inspire the young boys and girls for alpine ski racing. I like to invest time and money for that. ”

Wolfgang Maier, DSV Alpine Sports Director, praised Neureuther’s commitment: “It is exemplary that Felix stands up for the alpine ski youngsters. For the children, it is a great motivation to train with their idol. The first ten editions were already a complete success.”

The cost of the race camp is covered by Neureuther. The weekend event will also be supported by Intersport, ERL, Soelden/Oetztal, the DOSB project “Be smart! With Felix Neureuther”,”Your Winter, Your Sport”, Xenofit, and Hotel Liebe Sonne.
