PARK CITY, Utah – The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association announced the nomination of 14 cross country, seven ski jumping, and four nordic combined athletes to the Olympic team on Wednesday (Jan. 22) World champions Kikkan Randall and Jessie Diggins will lead the cross country team while world champions Lindsey Van, who played a pivotal role in getting ski jumping into the Olympic Winter Games for women, and Sarah Hendrickson, who was selected after a promising return to snow following a knee injury, will be a part of the first-ever women’s ski jumping team at the Games. Athletes nominated to the nordic combined team include Olympic and World Champion Billy Demong as well as World Champion and Olympic medalist Todd Lodwick. It will be a record-breaking sixth Olympic Winter Games for Lodwick, who earned his nomination after winning 2014 U.S. Olympic Trials Dec. 28.
