Beginning in May 2016, Christian Greber will step into the newly created role of youth sports director in the Austrian Ski Federation. Greber was a member of the Austrian Ski Team from 1989 to 2004, securing numerous top results in the speed disciplines on the World Cup and finishing sixth at the Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City.

fea0f2e27945d84fGreber retired as an athlete on April 1, 2004 and moved immediately into a role at Head, where he worked with Rainer Salzgeber overseeing the speed disciplines. In the last four years, he was solely responsible for the women’s racing program at Head.

In his new role with the Austrian Ski Federation, Greber will be accountable for development at the junior FIS level, including staffing selections. A key objective of this new role is the coordination and cooperation with the clubs and associations in the country. Greber will also devote particular attention to the establishment of nationwide training facilities and their utilization by teams and programs.

“The decision was not easy,” noted Greber on his departure from Head, where he leaves behind close friends and associates, but he is looking forward to the challenge ahead of him with the Austrian Federation.
