MOUNT BACHELOR, Oregon — Aspen's Wiley Maple grabbed his second medal of the Chevrolet J2 Junior Olympics Friday, fighting tough visibility and a wet falling snow as race officials moved up the downhills to avoid worsening weather. Maple was followed across the finish by Breckenridge skier Taylor Vest-Burton with Colby Granstrom in third.
Taking the women's title was Colorado's Delainey Ackerman with a convincing 1.3-second edge over New Hampshire's Julia Ford. Felicia Byers, the first skier out of the start, got third.
With weather expected to make racing difficult over the next few days, officials will look for a window of opportunity for the remaining super G races.
