Canadian Nat'ls: Kucera takes DH crown

By Published On: February 10th, 2008Comments Off on Canadian Nat'ls: Kucera takes DH crown

John Kucera won his second Pontiac GMC Canadian Championships title in four years Saturday, taking the crown from last year’s champion Erik Guay by more than half a second.
Kucera, a World Cup super G winner, won in a time of one minute 52.01 seconds followed by Guay in 1:52.64 with Manuel Osborne-Paradis in third.
"Last year I finished second twice, in the downhill and super G, so this is a little more like it," said Kucera. He was shut-out of the winners circle at the 2007 Pontiac GMC Canadian Championships after winning multiple titles in both ‘05 and ‘06.
"I came out here knowing I have a chance to win the super G and downhill titles. I am gunning for each of those and now with the super combined, I’m gunning for that one as well," Kucera said.
