Alpine Canada has released the following update on Canada’s Alpine Ski Team athlete, Mont-Tremblant, Quebec native, and Club de ski Mont-Tremblant athlete, Valérie Grenier.

During her training run in the downhill, Wednesday, February 6th at the 2019 Audi FIS Alpine World Championships in Are, Sweden, Valérie Grenier sustained a season-ending injury – a fracture of the right tibia/fibula and of the right ankle. She was transported to the hospital and is underwent surgery in Östersund, Sweden later that night. Grenier had the best Canadian result on Tuesday in the super-G, finishing in 19th place.

The athletes and staff of Alpine Canada wish her a speedy recovery.
