Austrian Vincent Kriechmayr wins his first downhill of 2019 Saturday, January 19th in Wengen, Switzerland. The Austrian has not won a downhill since Are in 2018, but finished top 10 in Bormio, Beaver Creek, and Lake Louise earlier in the season.

Kriechmayr was closely followed by home favorite and reigning Wengen champion, Beat Feuz, who trailed by 0.14 seconds. Aleksander Kilde finished in third, 0.26 seconds out from Kriechmayr. Saturday’s finish is Kilde’s best result at the venue. In 2018, the Norwegian barely made it into the top 20.

Bryce Bennett lead the Americans in fifth, followed by Travis Ganong in 24th and Jared Goldberg in 30th. Ryan Cochran-Seigle and Tommy Biesemeyer finished outside of the top 30. Steven Nyman and Wiley Maple both fell on their runs but walked away uninjured.
