BREAKING: Kristoffersen Wins World Championship Gold in Giant Slalom

After a thrilling second run, Norway’s Henrik Kristoffersen won gold in the World Championship men’s giant slalom on Friday evening in Are, Sweden, finishing with a two-run time of 2:20.24 seconds.

Kristoffersen sat in bronze-medal position after the first run, 0.18 seconds back of France’s Alexis Pinturault. Austrian great Marcel Hirscher finished in second place, 0.20 seconds back, and Pinturault ultimately finished in third, 0.42 seconds off the pace.

Ted Ligety led the American finishers in 11th place, 1.54 seconds back. Tommy Ford followed close behind in 12th and Ryan Cochran-Siegle finished in 21st.
