Marcel Hirscher took the men’s parallel giant slalom Monday evening in Alta Badia, Italy. The Austrian has now won slalom, giant slalom, and parallel events at the Italian venue and Monday’s victory was his first in parallel GS.

Hirscher defeated surprise second-place finisher, France’s Thibaut Favrot, in the final by 0.18 seconds. Another Frenchman, Alexis Pinturault, defeated Sweden’s Matts Olsson in the small final for third place.

The two Americans in the race, Ryan Cochran-Siegle and Tommy Ford, were defeated in the first two rounds. Cochran-Siegle fell to Pinturault by only 0.08 seconds in the first round and Ford was defeated by Olsson by 0.64 seconds in round two.
