Podcast: Jimmy Krupka makes debut as host of ‘Ski Racing This Week’

Ski Racing Media (SRM) is thrilled to announce the return of its weekly podcast, reimagined and rebranded as “Ski Racing This Week,” which will be hosted by alpine racer Jimmy Krupka.

On his weekly show, Krupka will continue to bring you the latest chatter from the World Cup circuit. He’ll be talking results, analysis, predictions and more with a variety of high-profile guests and industry characters. Krupka will also keep you up to date with stories from around the ski racing world — from the White Circus to the NorAm circuit, and from the collegiate level all the way down to the young guns.

Krupka is passionate about both ski racing and podcasting and was a previous contributor to Ski Racing’s Tips and Tales. He is a part-time student at Dartmouth College and trains year-round as an invitee with the U.S. Ski Team. Hitting the road this winter, Krupka is certainly living the life as a ski racer with a close-up perspective on the sport. Being just 21 years old, he’s a bit of a young gun himself. With that in mind, Krupka looks forward to bringing a new flavor and a fun perspective to Ski Racing This Week. 

“Jimmy is a perfect guy to take over Ski Racing’s podcast,” said SRM’s editor-in-chief, Geoff Mintz. “We obviously wanted someone who is extremely familiar with the sport, and it helps that Jimmy is racing and living life on the ground. We wanted someone who is willing to take risks and have a lot of fun with this growing medium. At the same time, we are aiming high with this new podcast and hope to bring in some of the biggest names in the sport, along with domestic up-and-comers and people with unique perspectives.”

In the first episode, Jimmy chats with NBC Sports analyst and two-time Olympian Doug Lewis to help sort through the World Cup season and look ahead to Hinterstoder and La Thuile this weekend. Krupka also reviews the events in Japan and Crans Montana over the weekend and takes a dive into the college circuit and NorAm Cup. Plus, a couple of surprise guests join the show to talk ski technique, Henrik Kristoffersen’s mindset, and more.
