Letter: History of American Independents
Thanks to Edie Thys Morgan for writing and to Ski Racing for publishing, on June 17, the article, American Independents: Class of 2020. To put this in perspective, it would be great to research and record in a similar fashion the stories of the American Independents of the last 20-30 years. Additionally, potential contributors may be helped in their decisions if some ball park numbers of the amounts of moneys needed for these athletes to pursue their goals would be published. For example: cost of a tech person per season or per trip, cost of a month of summer training down under, or cost of an athlete’s participation in certain number of races, or in the World Championship, etc.
