Marcel HirscherWorld Cup giant slalom leader Marcel Hirscher of Austria announced last week that he will extend his contract with Atomic hard goods through the next four years.

“Skis, boots, binding, goggles and helmet – I was not even close to considering any alternatives to Atomic,” said Hirscher, who has raked in eight World Cup wins this season in both slalom and GS.

Hirscher says his relationship with Atomic is fueled by continual innovation and team work. “We keep questioning every single detail of the material all the time, but the final product is the result of precise handicraft,” he said. “There is not one single day where we do not try to improve the setup. This is an incredible effort for all persons involved and without this, considering my style of racing, successes would not be possible. I need partners who are a bit like my dad and me – and everyone we work with at Atomic is a bit like us. The whole company is on the same wavelength.”

Hirscher will remain on Atomic equipment through the FIS World Ski Championships in Schladming 2013, the Olympic Games in Sochi 2014 and the World Ski Championships in Vail/Beaver Creek 2015.
