Gear Guide: Shiffrin Extends Contract With Atomic Through 2020
Before the start of the Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang, Mikaela Shiffrin, the world’s best female skier at the moment, has made a clear statement by extending her partnership with Atomic by two years through the 2019-20 season.
“As successful as this Olympic winter is for us so far, this is definitely our best season win! The whole racing team, the whole company, the whole Atomic community, everyone is celebrating and is extremely happy.”
Global Race Manager at Atomic Christian Hoeflehner’s elation is certainly understandable. Right in the middle of the countdown for the Games in South Kore, Atomic has scored a real coup. This means what belongs together is staying together: the best female ski racer in the world is staying with the most successful ski brand in the world; skis, boots, bindings, and helmets – success made in Altenmarkt! With another win this race weekend in Lenzerheide, the reach another World Cup record. She could beat the current record for most wins before the age of 23, currently held by Atomic icon Annemarie Moser-Proell. She will also be looking to medal in multiple disciplines in Korea.
“Mikaela has the potential to eventually extend her unparalleled dominance in the technical competitions to the speed disciplines as well and we will do everything possible to support her in her quest,” said Hoeflehner.
