Academics and Overview: Steamboat Mountain School is a coeducational boarding and day high school that blends academics and adventure, combining an outstanding college-preparatory curriculum with extraordinary programs out of the classroom and around the globe to build students’ knowledge, develop their confidence and independence, and prepare them for meaningful and fascinating lives.
The Competitive Ski & Ride program is for strong athletes looking for top-level training and competition. The program is run in conjunction with the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club, which has developed more Olympians than any other club in the U.S. Our schedule enables student athletes to lighten their academic load in the winter to accommodate their training and competition schedules. Our student athletes have access to the best teachers and professional coaches.

Steamboat Winter Sports Club athletes utilize several training venues including; Howelsen Hill, Steamboat Ski Resort, and the Steamboat Touring Center. The Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club (SSWSC) has added a new championship-caliber Alpine Training and Competition Venue located at the Steamboat Ski Resort.
