Academics Approach: GMVS offers a rigorous college preparatory curriculum intended to prepare students with the content knowledge and skills necessary to be successful at the collegiate level. In addition to traditional core courses, each academic department offers a variety of electives and select opportunities for advanced work. GMVS offers comprehensive Learning Services and ESL programs designed to empower students to become strategic and resilient lifelong learners. Students consistently go on to some of the nation’s top college and universities including numerous Ivy League and NESCAC schools – many continue to ski race while others to not. Across the board, graduates report being well prepared for the collegiate environment.
Athletic Approach: The GMVS athletic program provides the opportunity for any hard-working and passionate ski racer to achieve personal athletic greatness. Our program is driven by committed athletes and coaches who promote the value of hard work and perseverance. Comprehensive programming including ski-specific dryland training, injury prevention through Functional Movement Screening, sports psychology, as well as in- and out-of-season on-snow camps provide students with every opportunity for success. In addition to ski-specific dryland training, students may also elect to play interscholastic soccer or lacrosse in the fall and spring.
On-snow training facilities located at Sugarbush Resort, combined with our U.S. Ski & Snowboard High Performance Center provide students with some of the world’s finest training facilities at our doorstep.

KELLY BRUSH RACE ARENA – Located at the base of Sugarbush’s Mt. Ellen, the Kelly Brush Race Arena now offers athletes three dedicated and FIS homologated training trails with two private surface lifts and a chairlift to allow for continuous training on a variety of terrain. New this season: Inverness and Brambles have been connected to provide students with a more challenging GS and Super G training and race venue. Additionally, the KBRA has warming buildings at the top and mid-run with a clubhouse at the base.
NORDIC TRAINING-- Our location provides unparalleled access to the best skiing and racing in the East. We train at a variety of high-level centers in close proximity to campus: Rikert Nordic Center, Ole's Nordic Center, Trapp Family Lodge and Ethan Allen Biathlon Center, among others. GMVS owns a trail groomer and also a high-end Nordic trailer for waxing skis or resting at races.
RACING PERFORMANCE CENTER—This U.S. Ski & Snowboard High-Performance Center includes 30,000 square feet of world-class weight and fitness training space, along with cutting-edge ski tuning, comprehensive video analysis, advanced physical therapy, locker rooms and all coaches’ offices in one central location.
