Canadian Trevor White got the first win of the Nor-Am circuit at Loveland, Colo., as he grabbed a slalom win over a couple of Americans and a pair of Swiss. Up the road at Winter Park, Colo., German Susanne Riesch got a slalom win by a huge margin, with Sterling Grant upsetting Canadian Anna Goodman and teammate Hailey Duke for second place.

It was three podiums for the U.S. and two for Canada despite a heavy load of European skiers present. In Loveland Tim Jitloff was second behind White with Will Brandenburg in third. Swiss Sandro Viletta and Marc Gini got fourth and fifth ahead of Jimmy Cochran.

Poland’s Katarzyna Karasinska was fifth behind Duke in the women’s race with Nastasia Noens of France in sixth.

“It snowed quite a bit over here,” said White, “It’s definitely a different kind of skiing on the soft snow. You have to be soft on your skis let them do the work,” he said. “It feels good to ski well and it’s always nice to win.”
