THE FRENCH RESORT of Val d'Isere will host two World Cup women's downhill races and one slalom next week, the International Ski Federation announced on Wednesday.
Val d'Isere will host the two downhills canceled in St. Moritz, Switzerland (Dec. 12) and Val d'Isere (Dec. 16) as well as the slalom from Megeve, France, scheduled for Dec. 20 that was canceled earlier Wednesday.
A downhill training run is scheduled for Monday, Dec. 18, followed by downhill races next Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 19-20, with the slalom closing the event on Thursday, Dec. 21.
Also Wednesday, the FIS confirmed that the men's World Cup stop in Hinterstoder, Austria, on Dec. 20-21 will continue as scheduled with a super G on Dec. 20 followed by a giant slalom on Dec. 21.
Unusually warm weather throughout Europe has disrupted the skiing calendar with several events having to be rescheduled.
